Brokerage

A real estate brokerage is a company that employs licensed real estate agents to represent clients in buying or selling property. Single Agent

A single agent is a licensed real estate agent who works independently to represent clients in buying or selling property. Single agents work for themselves and are responsible for handling all aspects of the transaction on their own. Because they work independently, single agents often can provide a tailored and individualized experience to their clients. They may also have more flexibility in terms of their fees and commission structure, as they are not bound by several policies and guidelines that team structures may have.

Team

A real estate team is a group of licensed agents who work together to represent clients in buying or selling property. Teams are typically led by a team leader, who is responsible for coordinating the team's efforts and ensuring that all members are working together effectively. The main advantage of working with a team is the collective expertise and resources they offer. By working together, team members can leverage each other's strengths and knowledge to provide a more comprehensive and effective service to their clients. Teams may also have access to advanced technology and marketing resources, which can help them attract more clients and provide a higher level of service.


Key Differences

The key differences between brokerages, single agents, and teams are primarily related to their services, level of resources, expertise, and support. Brokerages are the organization under which a real estate professional can operate by national and local law.  Single agents offer personalized attention and flexibility, but may not have the same breadth of resources and expertise as teams. Teams offer collective expertise, and resources, but may not have the same level of flexibility to change a certain aspect of their business.


Ultimately, the decision to work with a specific brokerage with either a single agent or team will depend on your specific needs and preferences as a buyer or seller. If you're looking for a high level of support and guidance throughout the real estate process, a team may be the best option for you. If you prefer to work with someone who juggles all of the responsibilities themselves then a single agent might be the right pick for you!  Regardless of which option you choose, it's important to do your research and choose a professional who has the experience, knowledge, and expertise to help you achieve your real estate goals.
